This product is very much like Reverse Phone Detective. It's an automated site where you enter a phone number and almost instantly receive a basic report. It is newer than Reverse Phone Detective, and seems to be able to provide information on as many phone numbers as the competition. But it offers you a little less information in your basic reports.
Specifically, where Reverse Phone Detective's basic report shows you a map of the address of the phone number's owner, Phone Number Scan instead includes several tables listing what information is available and listing the name of the county that contains the phone number owner's address.
In addition, some of the information they provide is confusing. For example, the site lists the county that contains the address of the phone number's owner, but the table lists the population of the Metropolitan Area that the county is part of, rather than the population of the county. This threw me when in one of my first tests, the site listed a population of 20 million plus for a phone number in Morris County, NJ. Morris County has a population of less than 500,000.
It turns out that the 20 million plus number is correct, but it refers to the New York Metropolitan area, not to Morris County, where the phone number belongs. I expect that this part of the results will be made clearer in the future, but for now it is just confusing.
Product Research
While I did not purchase a complete report from this site (a complete report at $19.95 is $5 higher than for Reverse Phone Detective), I did do several basic searches to get a better feel for the size of their database. From my limited testing, it appears that Phone Number Scan has a database that's comparable in size to the competition.
In short, this seems like a practical tool for doing your cell phone number searches, but isn't quite as polished as the leader in this category.
